Giuseppe Samonà e la “spina dorsale” di Gibellina Nuova

Nel 1970 Giuseppe Samonà coordina il gruppo di progettazione formato da Vittorio Gregotti, Gianni Pirrone e Alberto Samonà per il Progetto del Centro civico, commerciale e culturale di Gibellina Nuova. Del piano è realizzato il municipio e poi, rielaborato e in altro luogo, il teatro. I monumenti, fondati su un asse pedonale in quota connesso a un suolo artificiale articolato, esprimono l’unità architettura – urbanistica e anticipano, per certi versi, una riflessione successiva del Direttore dello IUAV sulla dialettica fra urbano e rurale.

Settore ICAR/14 - Composizione Architettonica E UrbanaIn 1970 Giuseppe Samonà coordinated a design team (with Vittorio Gregotti Gianni Pirrone and Alberto Samonà) for the project of the Civic Commercial and Cultural Centre of Gibellina Nuova. From this plan among the monuments just the town hall was built. The theatre was proposed later for a different place. The buildings should have been linked to a pedestrian axial gangway connected to an articulated artificial ground. The complex should have shown the unity between architecture and urban planning anticipating in some ways a later Samona’s reflection about the dialectic between urban and rural.

Secondo questa proposta di lettura dell'opera grafica di Dino Buzzati, che può essere estesa anche ad altri autori dal doppio talento, i disegni ai margini della scrittura possono essere interpretati allora nella loro funzione di relazione tra le arti che si risolve in una interazione, una negoziazione, uno slittamento oppure un conflitto, una cancellatura. Inoltre le annotazioni ai margini della scrittura, soprattutto nelle loro versioni grafiche, costituiscono una forma di introspezione autobiografica assai preziosa per ricostruire il profilo del loro autore, se scrittore e disegnatore al contempo.

Settore M-GGR/02 - Geografia Economico-PoliticaThe current debate about the Italian territorial reorganization makes again fundamental the concept of «territory». This paper aims to reflect on some important dynamics that concern the idea of territory. More in particular I explore in which form it can be (re)semantised through some tourism representations and narrations able to create specific ways of interaction. By taking into account the case study of the Lonely Planet 2017 digital tourist guidebook dedicated to Sicily that splits (and reorganizes) the island in smaller «regions» it is possible to reflect on a complex space dynamic able to redefine the same idea of territory. Indeed the tourist guidebook uses both texts and geographical maps to propose an anthology of homogeneous and coherent destinations to make the Otherness more accessible for the readers. This process demonstrates how symbolic (re)productions of a territory can give rise to specific constructions of places creating different concepts of region and therefore performative spaces and opportunities of «agency». In other terms the (re)definition of the Sicilian territory proposed by the guide invites tourists to consider a new (narrated) geography invites and invites to interact with it thinking as visitors. From a geographical and cultural point of view reflection on these dynamics allows us to consider some (re)definitions of space in relation to forms of textualization (even on the maps). The experimental facility for the Search for Hidden Particles at the CERN SPS

The Search for Hidden Particles (SHiP) Collaboration has shown that the CERN SPS accelerator with its 400 $\mathrm{\small GeV/c}$ proton beam offers a unique opportunity to explore the Hidden Sector. The proposed experiment is an intensity frontier experiment which is capable of searching for hidden particles through both visible decays and through scattering signatures from recoil of electrons or nuclei. The magnet of the scattering and neutrino detector for the SHiP experiment at CERN

The Search for Hidden Particles (SHiP) experiment proposal at CERN demands a dedicated dipole magnet for its scattering and neutrino detector. This requires a very large volume to be uniformly magnetized at B > 1.2 T, with constraints regarding the inner instrumented volume as well as the external region, where no massive structures are allowed and only an extremely low stray field is admitted. In this paper we report the main technical challenges and the relevant design options providing a comprehensive design for the magnet of the SHiP Scattering and Neutrino Detector.

This paper offers a reflection on the expected competencies identified through the formulation of the Dublin descriptors of the CdS in Education Sciences (L-19) and Primary Education Sciences (LM-85bis) established at the University of Palermo and in the same time to propose a model for the development of professional maturity necessary to ensure informed mature and responsible choices. Searching for signatures around 1920 MeV of a N-* state of three hadron nature

We provide a series of arguments which support the idea that the peak seen in the gamma p -> K+ Lambda reaction around 1920 MeV should correspond to the recently predicted state of J(P) = 1/2(+) as a bound state of K(K) over bar N with a mixture of alpha(0)(980)N and f(0)(980)N components. At the same time we propose polarization experiments in that reaction as a further test of the prediction, as well as a study of the total cross-section for gamma p -> K(+)K(-)p at energies close to threshold and of d sigma/dM(inv) for invariant masses close to the two-kaon threshold.

Abstract The violation of baryon number, B , is an essential ingredient for the preferential creation of matter over antimatter needed to account for the observed baryon asymmetry in the Universe. However, such a process has yet to be experimentally observed. The HIBEAM/NNBAR program is a proposed two-stage experiment at the European Spallation Source to search for baryon number violation.
